We design tools that make the cloud a better place to build software.

A pixellated illustration of a cloud forming.

Driven by the understanding that much of the cloud's complexity is rooted in current programming paradigms, Wing is an abstraction layer which spans cloud providers and services, and unifies infrastructure and application code into a single programming and operational model. Wing enables teams to deliver cloud software faster and more securely, and increase independence and autonomy of both developers and platform teams. Our solutions include the open-source programming language Winglang, as well as tools and services to allow teams to build, run, debug, and test complete cloud applications on cloud providers and a local simulation.

Wing was co-founded by CEO Elad Ben-Israel, creator of multiple open-source projects in the cloud infrastructure space such as the AWS CDK for CDK for Kubernetes (CDK8s), JSII, and Projen; and COO Shai Ber, a former software developer at Microsoft, investor, and founder who went on to sell his company Aniways to Verizon back in 2015.

Our Culture

Developers building for developers

We are tool builders. The tools we create are built with respect and passion for software craftsmanship. We’re here to create impactful and life-changing tools that we love and enjoy using ourselves. We work backwards from the user experience. We respect data, but listen to our instincts and intuitions even more. We prefer to try things out in collaboration with our users rather than diving too deep into analysis.

Open-source

We believe that the best way to create amazing tools is to build them together with our users. We believe in open-source as a cultural and economic movement and the primary vehicle of the innovation and technology that drives humanity forward. We take an active two-way part in the open-source community by helping others, contributing, writing and sharing our experience and ideas.

Strong individuals that love to play together

We applaud each other’s work and lift each other up, and when things don’t work out, we systematically evolve our processes like a well-oiled machine. We enjoy teaching each other things, and inspire each other with wild ideas that are never dismissed. We celebrate our individual uniqueness and quirks. We work hard, but also believe in living healthy and balanced lives, connected to the people we love.

A Global Community

Our community of collaborators and users is distributed around the world, so we prefer public asynchronous communication and other collaboration techniques that are inclusive and help everyone stay connected and involved. However, we also respect the need for human contact and connection, so we make an effort to meet often virtually and physically.
